Venture deep into the heart of adventure with “Elephant Pools Expedition”, a celebration of Disneyland’s legendary Jungle Cruise. This painting captures the moment when your riverboat drifts into the ruins of the elephant pools - sunlight streaming through tall bamboo as the boat enters the sacred baths.
The Jungle Cruise was one of Walt’s favorite rides and for good reason. After 70 years it is still one on my ‘must do’ list, it never gets old, (maybe the jokes do), but the jungle keeps on growing and getting more beautiful with time. I painted this because it holds special meaning for me as I first rode it when I was about 6, and I’ve ridden it ever since, with my 6 year old and one day I’m sure with my 6 year old grandchild. The excitement and fun I’ve tried to capture, watch the light change during the day with the light in the room where you hang this. Every time I look at this on my wall it brings a smile to my face, and I hope it does to yours’ too.
